The Best Gift Your Loved One Will Never Forget

After years of anniversaries, birthdays and Christmases, it can begin to get difficult to think of good gift ideas for your partner. There are only so many different ways to say 'I love you' with physical items, which means it is time to look outside of the box and start to consider giving them an experience. While many companies offer experiences as gifts, there is one that rises above the rest, quite literally, as being the best and most unforgettable memory you could ever give: flying lessons.

Can Anyone Really Fly A Plane?

There are a couple of different basic requirements to flying a plane for the first time but they are not restrictive at all. As long as you are in relatively good health, don't have a heart condition or epilepsy and can pass a simple eyesight test, you will be totally fine. Flying lessons are there to be used by everyone. You are always supervised as a beginner, and if anything goes wrong, there is an experienced pilot sitting right next to you. The large majority of the population can be eligible for flying lessons, and some companies even allow teenagers and kids to try it out!

What If They Want More?

It is common for people to catch the flying itch when they finish their flying lessons, and this inevitably brings up the question of what to do next. The next step in your journey as an amateur pilot is to try and set goals for yourself, like obtaining a recreational pilots licence. A recreational pilots licence is the lowest level of aircraft licence and is quite easy to obtain with a bit of consistent application. To get a recreational pilots licence, you will need to undergo about 25 hours of flight, undergo a test or two and then complete some theory either on your own or with an instructor. That's all it takes!

How Much Can It Cost?

Flying lessons and your recreational pilots licence can cost different amounts, depending on which plane you decide to use. There are many planes operated by small companies that only cost a bit over 100 dollars per hour, but if you want to get fancy, then you can spend upwards of 300-400 dollars. It all depends on you and what you are looking for. When going for a recreational pilots licence, you are going to spend a bit of money simply due to the amount of flight time it takes, but this will be spread out over the months you take the course. Flying isn't cheap, but its nowhere near as expensive as people assume it to be.
